Day 51 of 365 – I will keep and bear arms.
About a month or so ago, I made the decision and announcement that I will no longer continue to try and get a prosperous martial arts school up and running, and instead put more energy into the positive changes we can provide people in health and fitness through CrossFit Champions and AdvoCare.
Early last week, I had just about come to the decision to stop teaching firearms training as well. Once again, it just comes down to time. However, about mid-week, I decided that I just care too much about not only our rights to keep and bear arms, but also the ability to use them properly and responsibly in a defensive situation. I may not be as active as some of my fellow Combat Focus Shooting Instructors, but I will continue to teach when I can, nonetheless.
I believer very strongly in Americans’ rights to keep and bear arms. I believe every law abiding citizen should be allowed to defend themselves, their loved ones and their homes/possessions with the means necessary to do so, including the appropriate and responsible use of firearms.
I don’t want to get political with this. Ultimately, I don’t believe this issue is a Republican/Democrat or Right/Left or Conservative/Liberal debate. Ultimately, its just a difference of opinions and a lack of understanding and unwillingness to understand both sides of the issue (from both sides).
I wholeheartedly believe we should get all the guns out of the hands of those that would do evil with them. BUT THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. BAD GUYS WILL ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO GET THE WEAPONS THEY WANT AND THEY WILL ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO DO EVIL AND HARM, REGARDLESS OF THE TOOL USED.
That being said, I wholeheartedly believe that good folks that want nothing more than to be safe and provide safety for their families and loved ones should have EVERY right to defend themselves…no matter where they are.
I will continue to keep and bear arms. I will continue to fight for those rights. I will oppose anyone that tries to limit my rights. I will be a strong advocate of more firearms education and I will do my best to be a good example of a responsible and moral gun owner.

Well said Matt and I’m glad to hear you’ll still be teaching CFS. You are a valuable asset to the CFS team and training community needs more like you.
Glad to have a good guy in the fight! Keep it going!
Yep. What he said.
